Watford’s Daniel Bachmann will spend the next year in the Scottish Premiership, after the Austrian goalkeeper signed a season-long loan deal with Kilmarnock.
Bachmann moved to Vicarage Road from Stoke City last summer on a free transfer, penning a three-year deal in Hertfordshire, and was the Hornets’ third choice goalkeeper last season behind Heurelho Gomes and Orestis Karnezis.
He failed to make an appearance for the Golden Boys last season and with the arrivals of Ben Foster and Pontus Dahlberg this summer, the Hornets have now allowed Bachmann to gain some much needed game time out on loan.
The former Austria under-21 international is no stranger to the Scottish Premiership having spent time on loan with Ross County in 2015, with the 24-year-old set to work under former West Bromwich Albion and Reading boss Steve Clarke at Kilmarnock.
Clarke was appointed as Killie’s manager last October and guided the club to a fifth place finish last season.
Bachmann will rival Jamie McDonald for the number one spot at Rugby Park and will wear the number 26 shirt during his time with the Scottish club.
