Gerard Deulofeu is nearing a €10 million move to Watford from Barcelona, according to reports in the winger’s homeland.
The Hornets have been working towards securing a permanent move for a player who impressed while on loan at Vicarage Road in the second half of last season.
Those efforts look to have progressed well and a deal to make Deulofeu, 24, Watford’s second signing of the summer could be completed within a matter of days.
The Spanish international accepts he has no future at the Camp Nou and Barca are eager to cash in on a player who has slipped someway down the club’s pecking order.
Javi Gracia admitted he was keen to add Deulofeu to his squad before the close of last season, and the former Everton man also went on record to reveal a move to Watford was an option in May.
“I have enjoyed it here,” the winger said. “I have said before that in the summer I will leave Barcelona.
“I do not know which team I will go to, so let’s see what happens. I have to rest and decide but of course Watford is one option.”
