Schalke full-back Dennis Aogo could be on his way to Watford once his contract runs out with the Bundesliga side, according to German newspaper Bild.
The 30-year-old, who has 12 caps for Germany, is out of contract in Gelsenkirchen this summer, and is reportedly close to leaving his home country for Hertfordshire.
Aogo has played his part in two Europa League semi-finals, both for Hamburg. The first came against fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and the second a year later against Fulham, with Hamburg defeated both times.
He moved to Schalke in 2014, and has gone on to make 78 appearances for the club.
The German international did not feature significantly in the Bundesliga this season but played more of a role during Schalke’s time in the Europa League, starting five games.
Over the past few weeks, he has also been linked to a move to Tony Pulis' West Brom, but Watford are said to be most keen on securing his signature ahead of the new campaign.
