Beppe Sannino has confirmed Troy Deeney is Watford's captain heading into the 2014/15 campaign.
Last season Manuel Almunia was skipper but the veteran goalkeeper left the club in the summer after his contract expired.
Deeney filled in when Almunia was absent and yesterday Sannino confirmed Deeney was the club captain.
The 26-year-old is a big personality in the dressing room and Sannino has often praised his character.
Deeney has been the subject of transfer bids this summer and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Leicester City, Burnley, Swansea City, Norwich City, Everton and more recently Queens Park Rangers.
There will be more from Sannino in Friday's Watford Observer. Information on subscribing to the newspaper can be found here.
