Watford are set to beat a number of clubs to the signing of midfielder Lewis McGugan, the Watford Observer understands.
McGugan has developed a reputation for scoring spectacular goals in recent years and was a fans’ favourite for much of his time at Forest.
Billy Davies was keen to keep McGugan at the City Ground and he was offered a new contract but the 24-year-old’s previous deal expired yesterday and the Watford Observer understands he has opted to join the Hornets on a free transfer ahead of his other suitors.
McGugan has been both exciting and frustrating since progressing from the Forest Academy and making his debut in 2006 but his talent is without question.
The midfielder has scored 44 goals in 160 starts and 70 substitute appearances during his career so far.
Below are a selection of videos of McGugan's goals in recent seasons.
