Steve Bruce admits Hull City are in a "wonderful position" to secure automatic promotion after going six points clear of Watford on Saturday but the Tigers boss insists there is still a job to do.

Hull beat Ipswich Town 2-1 which, combined with Watford's 3-2 defeat to Peterborough United, means Bruce's side are now firm favourites to clinch second place.

Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: "It's a win which has put us in a wonderful position, but that's all it is, so we must make sure that we keep our heads switched on and perform at Wolves.

"This league is ridiculous as we see results every week that leave you scratching your head.

"Given that, there's no wonder that you don't get carried away because we could quite easily lose four.

"I don't think we will, but we have got to make sure we turn up at Wolves and do the job all over again."

If the Hornets fail to beat Millwall tomorrow night, Hull could confirm promotion before the weekend by taking maximum points against Wolves (tomorrow) and Bristol City (Friday).
