Watford defender Daniel Pudil’s three-game suspension following his red card against Cardiff City has been reduced to one match following a successful appeal.
Pudil received a three-game ban for violent conduct after an off-the-ball clash with Craig Noone but Watford appealed the severity of the punishment to the FA with the help of video footage provided by Cardiff City and a statement from Noone.
We understand the Hornets argued that the charge of violent conduct, and therefore the three-game ban, was too harsh as they believed that whilst Pudil may have made contact with Noone’s face, there was no violence involved.
Pudil, who was signed on loan from Granada in the summer, will be suspended for tomorrow’s game with Blackburn Rovers.
