Watford are appealing the severity of Daniel Pudil's red card thanks to the help of Cardiff City and winger Craig Noone, the Watford Observer understands.
Pudil received a three-game ban for violent conduct after an off-the-ball clash with Noone but Watford are appealing the severity of the decision and it is hoped the number of matches will be reduced.
The Watford Observer understands the Hornets were able to appeal to the FA as Cardiff provided previously unseen video evidence and also a statement from Noone to support Pudil.
Clubs are able to appeal red cards in exceptional circumstances and Watford believe the violent conduct charge, and subsequent three-game ban, was extremely harsh.
The video footage is understood to be inconclusive but Noone has also provided a statement confirming Pudil did not purposely hit the Cardiff winger in the face.
The Czech Republic international is currently suspended but a decision is expected imminently.
