A RUGBY team for people with learning disabilities are to face the side that inspired their creation in the first international game of its kind.
The Saracens Brave Herts are an integrated team based in Abbots Langley, of which two thirds of players have learning disabilities.
The team will play their Welsh counterparts, the Warriers Llanneli, on Saturday, February 4.
A return leg will then be played at the former Saracens ground in Southgate.
The Brave Herts were set up by the Watford and Three Rivers Community Learning Disability Team, based in Parsonage Close, last March.
Their manager, Simon Lowe, who also plays for the side, decided to form the team after reading about the Warriers.
He said: "I read about the Llanneli Warriers in Rugby World magazine last year and thought it would be good to establish an integrated team in Hertfordshire.
"It is fantastic for those who take part with learning disabilities, because it brings them many benefits. It gives them independence, an opportunity to mix with others and improves their health and fitness."
The Brave Herts team are always looking for new players and teams to compete against.
