The new neighbourhood inspector for Hertsmere says he aims to work with housing associations and the council to help tackle anti social behaviour.
Inspector Nick Ablett joined Hertsmere police after spending 13 years working in the Watford area and has taken over from Inspector Neil Morehen.
The 35-year-old from Hemel Hempstead has worked in a number of areas of the police including intervention teams responding to 999 calls and more recently with the North Watford Safer Neighbourhood Team.
He said: "Since starting in Hertsmere last month I’ve been impressed by the positive relationship we have with Hertsmere Borough Council and other partner organisations.
"A great deal of positive work has been achieved to reduce crime and address anti-social behaviour in certain areas of the borough, including Alban Crescent, Borehamwood, where the dispersal order has been running for a number of weeks.
"The dispersal order seems to be having a positive effect on the quality of life for residents in the area and I’ll continue to monitor the situation.
"My safer Neighbourhood Teams will continue to work with housing associations and the council to ensure that families are accountable for their children’s behaviour."
Mr Ablett, who will be based at Borehamwood Police station, in Elstree Way, is responsible for neighbourhood teams and working with other organisations such as the fire service and the borough council as part of the safer streets team.
