On Sunday 5th June 2011 fifteen members of Bushey and Watford phab club traveled to Hyde park London to take part in the annual PhaB Heart beat hike sponsored walk / push around the lido. The local Phab members were picked up from various points around Watford in a roundabout transport minibus before travelling into London and meeting up at the Hyde park Lido band stand with over 200 other phab members from phab clubs from all over the southeast.

At 11am Phab president Ed Stewart cut the tape and the sponsored walk was off with those phab members present undertaking laps of the lido. Between laps the phab members had the chance to relax and socialize with old friends often not seen since last years event and make new friends while being entertained by various musicians and groups who volunteered their time. All those members of Bushey and Watford Phab club present completed distances that they were able to achieve under either their own power or aided by being pushed by their friends and fellow phab members in their wheelchairs, all achieving at least one lap of over three miles some completing enough laps to be near half marathon distance. All those Phab members present were being sponsored for their efforts all money going into Bushey and Watford Phab clubs funds. So thanks to all those Phab members who took part all those who sponsored them and the organizers of the event.
