A primary school for Muslim children in Watford is one step closer to reality.
Hertfordshire County Council's Cabinet has agreed that the application, submitted by the Watford Muslim School Trust, meets current government guidelines and the proposal will be now be forwarded to the Department for Children, Schools and Families, who will make a final decision.
A County Council representative said it is a statutory obligation that any application for capital funding for a proposed new school must be submitted through the local education authority to the DCSF.
A site in Tolpits Lane, West Watford, has been identified for the new school.
