A broken Watford High Street bollard is set to be removed after blocking buses from picking up passengers.
Yesterday (December 11), Passenger Transport confirmed that “due to an issue with Watford High Street bollards” Watford High Street Stop B, outside the former Wilko unit, is not being served by buses “until further notice”.
Locals wanting to use the 20, 322, 501, W3, or W4 buses to or from the town centre have been asked to use the Market Street bus stops instead.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire County Council said: “We are aware of an issue with the bollards in Watford High Street causing disruption to bus services.
“Our contractors will be visiting the site today to remove the bollard for inspection, after which we will have a clearer idea of what the problem is and how to fix it.”
The malfunction is believed to involve one of the bollards rising on its own, although this has not been confirmed.
Update:
The bollards were operational again by 2.45pm on December 12. However, by 4pm they had stopped working again.
