The National Geographic has named a Hertfordshire pub among its top 15 places for a roast dinner in the UK.

Harpenden's The Silver Cup sits eighth on the list, with the likes of Aylesbury duck crown, lamb shoulder and 42-day aged beef sirloin on the menu.

These meat options are complimented by duck-fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, salt-baked carrot, carrot puree and buttered cabbage.

The pub was reopened in 2020 by friends and Harpenden locals Michael Singleton and chef Mathew Reeder.

The interior underwent a refurbishment during lockdown, shortly after Matthew and Michael took over the lease.
