A man in his 20s has died following a crash on the M25 near Potters Bar last night.
Herts Police said they were among emergency services called to the collision involving a red Ford Focus at around 11pm.
The force said it happened anticlockwise between junction 23 (South Mimms) and junction 25 (Enfield).
“Officers and the ambulance service attended the scene,” a police spokesperson added.
“Sadly, the driver of the Ford and the sole occupant of the vehicle, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by our officers.”
Road closures remained in place on the M25 and Barnet Road in Potters Bar.
Sergeant Tim Davies from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.
“We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please come forward.”
Anyone with dashcam footage was also urged to contact police.
