Hello! My name’s Ernie and this is my adopted sister, Duchess. We’re looking for a wonderful new home together where we can continue enjoying life as a couple.
We originally came into the National Animal Welfare Trust’s care as ex-racing greyhounds, but at different times. I was adopted first and then, not long after, my family decided to adopt Duchess too. It was the best thing they could ever have done for us as we absolutely adore each other.
Unfortunately, a few years later our family had a change of circumstances, so they had to make the hard decision to return us to the NAWT to find us a new home. That’s the great thing about adopting from the NAWT – they’ll always be there for their animals even once they’re rehomed.
We’re a really sweet pair of greyhounds who love to be around people and enjoy snoozing on the sofa. We can live with children who are steady on their feet as we’re used to being around them. We can't live with other dogs as we can be reactive or cats as we just want to chase them.
We’re used to being left alone for up to four hours and usually spend that time sleeping. We’ll need to build up to this gradually in our new home so we don't feel unsettled. We’ll also need a refresher on toilet training as we might forget what we’re meant to do in a new home.
If you have space in your heart and home for a couple of lovebugs like us, then apply today. Email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to arrange to meet.
