Two lanes were closed on the M25 near Watford after a van with cats and a dog in the back caught fire.
Herts Fire and Rescue confirmed they were called to the clockwise M25, between junction 18 (Amersham) and 19 (Watford), at around 12.43pm today (June 15).
They found a van "well alight" on the hard shoulder but confirmed “all persons and animals were accounted for”.

The fire was extinguished using a hose reel, dry powder, and two breathing apparatus.
The van, which had been carrying two cats and a dog in the back, was then recovered.
All lanes are now open on the #M25 clockwise between J18 #Amersham and J19 #Watford.

Recovery required two lanes to be closed for around three quarters of an hour, according to National Highways.
There were delays of up to an hour and a half on the motorway, with queues stretching back from near Watford to Heathrow Airport.
Two fire engines from Rickmansworth and Garston were sent to the scene.
