Ever wanted to meet Alice in Wonderland, the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Cheshire Cat and Caterpillar all in one day? Well, now's your chance.
They’ll be at Watford Museum for the launch of Watford Borough Council’s Big Wordfest celebration from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday, March 3.
Last year saw events covering a variety of genres, writing workshops, theatre, comedy, author talks and more; with lots for adults and just as much for children and young people. You can expect more of the same when it returns next month.
Expect face-painting, craft activities and tasty treats from the museum’s Little Gallery Tea Room – which runs from 10.30am to 4pm on the first Saturday of every month. Alice and her chums will also be paying a visit to Watford Central Library, where they will entertain visitors before their trip to the museum.
Cllr Karen Collett, cabinet member for community, says: “We are putting on a fabulous free event for everyone – and we’d love you to come along.
“Feel free to dress up as your favourite literary character, though plain-clothed guests are also welcome. Either way, we can guarantee you’ll have a good time. There may even be the chance to win prizes.”
Big Wordfest – Watford’s celebration of all things word-related – is now entering its third year, and the 2018 theme of the festival is adventure and travel. Word-related events will run throughout March and April, with free and low-cost activities for anyone and everyone. They are all listed at watfordbigevents.co.uk.
