The family of a young father who died after cutting himself on a nail are raising money for charity.
Ben Yelland, 38, died after contracting sepsis, five days after scratching himself.
His family said he started to feel unwell two days after the incident in May and was taken to hospital.
The funeral of the father of two, who went to Francis Combe School in Garston, and who previously played bowls for the Owls Bowls Club in Woodside, took place on Friday.
His family said in a statement: “Ben was a soft and gentle man, he was a much loved partner and best friend to Alison, Daddy to Amie 9 and Freya 6, a much loved Son and Brother who will be so missed by all his family and friends."
They added: “If anything good can possibly come from this it would be to raise awareness of this little known infection.”
