Plans to build a number of modular homes for homeless residents have been set in motion by Watford Borough Council.
The business case to build no more than nine homes at a site in Balmoral Road was approved by senior councillors at a meeting of the cabinet on Monday evening.

The pilot scheme will seek to demonstrate the benefits and test the practicalities of using modular construction in Watford.
The first properties built as part of the scheme will be given to families until they can secure more permanent accommodation.
Modular homes are built in sections in a factory and then transported to the site where they can be installed on pre-laid foundations in a matter of days.
Speaking after the meeting, Councillor Stephen Johnson, responsible for property and housing, said: “The intention is to take a measured approach by building a small number of high quality homes, no more than nine, and monitoring every stage of the process.
“Modular homes look like traditionally-built homes and they are subject to the same planning considerations and building control standards.
“We’ve begun informing local residents of our plans and will continue to liaise with them as these progress.”
