Plans for the first round of homes under the Watford Health Campus scheme have been officially submitted.
The proposal to build 95 flats across three blocks on land at Willow Lane will form the first phase of residential development at the Heath Campus site, which will henceforth be known as Watford Riverwell.

Of the 95 properties, five will be made available as social housing and 24 will be intermediate housing – falling between social housing and open market housing.
The development will also contain communal gardens, and spaces for 61 cars and 95 bicycles.
Further phases of development have also been planned for the Riverside area, with the partnership – consisting of Watford Borough Council, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust and developers Kier – planning to rejuvenate this stretch of the River Colne with a further 700 homes.
The £350m Health Campus scheme is described as an “ambitious plan to transform the land surrounding Watford General Hospital over the next 10 to 15 years”, creating an estimated 1,500 new jobs.
The project’s first commercial development phase – dubbed Trade City – is currently under construction to the east of the site and is “progressing well” according to the latest newsletter sent out to residents.
