Fire crews from Garston and St Albans put out a lorry fire on the motorway last night.
The firefighters were called at around 10pm to attend the incident on the anticlockwise exit slip road from the M25 to the M1, after reports that the front wheels of a large goods vehicle were on fire.
Garston Fire Station watch commander Tony McMenamin said: “The lorry’s trailer managed to be disconnected to stop the fire from spreading.
“The fire was extinguished and breathing apparatus was used."
