A banned driver has been jailed after he went on a violent road rage spree through Chorleywood, Watford and Bricket Wood.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said Vanslow Lee attacked a push cyclist, reversed into a scooter and crashed into a car with a pregnant woman and a young girl inside prior to being chased and arrested by police.
Prosecutor Claudette Elliott told St Albans Crown Court that Lee, 29, was driving his father's car on Rickmansworth Road, Chorleywood, when he clipped a bike and caused the cyclist to swerve.
The cyclist, Lawrence Simm, raised his hand to indicate he was ok and Lee pulled over.
The court heard that when Mr Simm asked Lee if he was alright the driver responded: "I will give you 'all right'" before punching the cyclist and knocking him over.
When a member of the public went to help Mr Simm, Lee threatened them and said: "Do you want some as well?"
Mr Simm suffered grazes to his arms and knees.
Lee then drove off and at Two Bridges in Croxley Green his reckless driving caused scooter rider Ellis Vessey, to brake hard. Later when both vehicles were waiting at a set of traffic lights in St Albans Road, Watford, Lee reversed into the scooter and sped off.
When he reached Oak Lane in Bricket Wood, Lee overtook waiting traffic and crashed into a car being driven by a woman who was 16 weeks pregnant and who had her 12 year old daughter with her.
Lee then drove onto the A41 Colne Way where he failed to stop at roundabouts and ran three sets of red lights.
Lee, of Bridlington Crescent, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on the evening of June 19 last year and two charges of common assault. He was already banned from driving and had no insurance.
Sally Fudge, defending, said: "His behaviour that day was absolutely disgraceful. He is truly sorry." She said he handed himself into the police and was attending Alcoholics Anonymous and involved in charitable work.
Jailing him, Judge John Plumstead said: "You had no business to be driving. You are a self indulgent man. I have no idea what was in your head that day. The cyclist had done nothing to provoke you. You used a vehicle as a weapon to reverse into a scooter driver. The pregnant woman was left shaken and scared and her daughter was terrified.
"You drove in an aggressive and highly dangerous way."
Lee was jailed for 19 months on Friday February 1, has been banned from driving for 3 years and ordered to sit an extended driving test before he can obtain his licence again.
