Staff from Hertsmere Borough Council have reason to celebrate, after scooping two awards.

Hertsmere Borough Council's corporate communications team won two golds in the Thames and Chiltern regional PRide awards run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).

Councillor Morris Bright, the council’s Conservative leader, said: "As the lead councillor for communications I am very pleased the communications team won these awards - this is a significant achievement in itself and recognises the hard work that goes into keeping our residents up-to-date with what is going on in the borough.

"Our consultation work tells us that 74 per cent of residents and 88 per cent of staff feel the council keeps them well informed."

Gold was awarded for the council’s in-house PR team, which consists of Catherine Feast, manager, officers Gail Anderson and Keely Smith.

A further gold was awarded for the council’s internal publication Hertshere, the staff magazine published five times a year.

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise public relations success and achievement, and there were more than 1,000 entries UK-wide this year.
