Flooding near the Grand Union Canal in Kings Langley has been described as “a waterfall” by a resident after it reached her ankles.

The path along the canal has excessive water flowing along the pavement, which is “pretty bonkers”, according to the resident.

The area of the walkway, near the Home Park Mill Link Road bridge towards Kings Langley, has “absolutely loads of water and the pathway is very soggy”, she claimed.

“You can’t walk through there without wellies on.

“I had to wade through the water on the path as it was like a waterfall this morning on my walk, and it could be dangerous especially if you are not careful and watch your step. My walking boots are absolutely drenched now.

“It has been like this previously but has never been this bad, last week it flooded but cleared up very quickly and became safe again, but now it hasn’t stopped, and I am worried it is getting worse.”

The pathway has currently got water flowing from the grass area into the canal, she said.

Hertfordshire County Council was contacted for comment.
