New owners “can’t wait” to welcome customers back to a “modernized” The White Horse pub next week.
The future of the Chorleywood pub appeared to be in doubt after the previous owners handed in their six months’ notice in August, saying the business had not recovered from the pandemic.
However, in December, Greene King confirmed a new partner had been found to take over the 18th century building.
The White Horse, in Rickmansworth Road, is now under new ownership and set to open on Monday (January 23). Opening hours will be confirmed via the pub website and social media later this week.
The new owners said customers will immediately notice the “beloved local establishment” now has a “modernized interior design”, which is still being finalised.
They added that the "new look" pub will still be “keeping all the charming, traditional elements that make The White Horse such a special place”.
It has been given a fresh coat of paint and new furniture alongside a few other renovations "to bring the space into the 21st century”.
The menu will be based around Thai cuisine with curries and salads available alongside pub staples.

The pub, which was built in 1722, will also offer a wide range of beer on tap, and a curated selection of wines, spirits and cocktails.
The owners added: “The White Horse is more than just a pub - it's a community hub, and we plan to keep it that way. We'll be hosting regular events and live music, as well as supporting local causes and organizations.
“We can't wait to welcome you to The White Horse and show you all that we have to offer.
“Stop by and see us... we'll save you a seat at the bar.”
The couple who had previously run The White Horse, Richie and Lisa, announced on Facebook in August last year that they had handed in their six months’ notice, saying the business had not recovered from the Covid pandemic.
Greene King had not guaranteed what would happen to the pub if a replacement partner was not found within six months, but regulars can rest easy as the new owners are in place.
