A primary school near Watford is set to knock down a “dilapidated” classroom block after plans were approved.
The proposals to demolish a temporary building housing two classrooms at the St Catherine of Siena Primary School in Horseshoe Lane were approved by Three Rivers District Council today, April 25.
In the application on behalf of the school, property consultants Synergy LLP said the single-storey building was “in disrepair” after being on the site for several decades.
The plans would see it replaced by a new classroom of similar size, which would include two toilets where there had previously been a storage room.

The Catholic school teaches 269 pupils aged four to 11 at its site in Woodside, next to the North Orbital Road, and is part of the Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust.
The grounds feature a main school building, large playground and a small farm, as well as the separate two-classroom block that is set to be demolished.
St Catherine of Siena Primary School has been contacted for more information.
